Shakti Mohan is a contemporary dancer born on 12th October 1985.Her parents are Brijmohan and Kusum Mohan. At a young age, Mohan met with an accident and the doctors predicted that she would not be able to walk again. However, with strength, determination and support, she is able to not only walk but dance exceptionally well. She is originally from Delhi but moved to Mumbai where she finished her MA in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College. She shot to fame after winning the second season of the national reality dance show “Dance India Dance”. She has also received a diploma in dance as from the Terence Lewis Dance Foundation Scholarship Trust and after gaining fame, she went on for further training in Vienna.
Shakti Mohan has performed on various international stages and has been seen on film as well. She played the protagonist in a Channel V sitcom and has also been featured in advertisements. She even represented India on BBC’s Worldwide Collaboration Culture being the first Indian to be chosen for it. For the “kamli” song from the movie “Dhoom 3” she assisted Vaibhavi Merchant in the choreography.
