Pirouette Detail

A French word which means to whirl about.The pirouette is to spin on one leg and is considered one of the most difficult of all dance steps.One is suppose to take a complete turnaround yourself to do a pirouette and balancing on one leg.It may be performed turning away from the supporting leg and turning toward the supporting leg .It usually begins in fourth, fifth or second position. Both legs should be straight in pirouette .Make sure your left arm is facing the front if your right foot is in front.One should bend both legs into a deep plie  and fix your eyes fixated when you prepare to start the turn.Focus on holding your body in a tight position.As you begin your turn spring up into retire position.Find your balance and hold it firmly.Then step is to turn the body and legs together as a unit and hold your shoulder level.The end of a pirouette is as important as the start.
