Bob Fosse

Bob Fosse was born on June 23,1927 in Chicago,Illinois.He was a trained dance who achieved success as a choreographer and director of screen and stage musicals.He set records with Academy and Tony awards for his woks including Pippin,Chicagi and Cabaret.He was interested in dancing since an early age and his parents supported him by enrolling him in a formal dance training.He began dancing professionally in local nightclubs by his early teens .He was first exposed to vaudeville and burlesque performance during this time.He got enlisted in the Navy after his high school in 1945.He appeared shortly in the MGM movie musical Kiss Me Kate in 1953.He got noticed by the Broadway director George Abott and the choreographer Jerome Robbins.He was highly successful by 1960.He was also opposed by directors and producers who thought his material was too suggestive.He won Tony awards for choreography and for direction for His Life and Times (1981).
