Acro dance Detail

Acrobatic dance or Acro dance is an amalgamation of gymnastics and dance. It consists of gymnastic techniques such as cartwheels, aerials and handstands. It also incorporates Jazz and Ballet techniques. Gymnastics is a sport which tests the flexibility of human body and it’s movement, whereas acrobatic dance is a step ahead, testing the elasticity of human body as well as the coordination of the body with music. Acro dancers need to blend music with the gymnastics exercises and express the emotions in the song and beats in the form of these exercises. Acro dance has taken birth from parts of China and is famously performed in circuses too. Various amateur dance competitions and studio settings are the main contributors for bringing this dance form into limelight. Acro dance is as difficult to teach as it is to learn. It requires highly qualified trainers. Flexibility, agility and strength are fundamental for learning this form. It’s techniques also include balancing, tumbling and partnering.
